LDI Trade Show - Live Design and Lighting in the USA
The LDI 2007 Trade Show and Conference took place in Orlando, USA in November. A stage lighting and production equipment extravaganza, similar the UK’s PLASA show, LDI showcased all that is new and shiny to lighting designers in the US.
As expected, LED lighting dominated the stands and the bun fight that is the mid range lighting control market continued. Lighting Designer Craig Finch visited the LDI show looking for a new lighting console to replace the Hog1000 at his venue and spent plenty of time with the console manufacturers. The UK lighting console makers were well represented at LDI by Avolites, Chamsys and Zero88 and Craig has written some thoughts on his quest for a new lighting desk and the show at his ShockSolutions blog. There are also some interesting pictures from the LDI exhibition hall.
We look forward to reading more views from across the pond and wish Craig well in his search for a new desk.
