Saravanan - Thanks for your idea. The old trick used to be to multi patch all attributes onto the same faders, colour gobo etc. then patch up seperate addreses for the Pan and Tilt. That was when there weren't too many moving light desks around, and we used to run scanners etc on conventional consoles. Glad we don't do that anymore. ;-)

I guess even this can help. Addressing two scanners the same address and invert any one pan or tilt or both. I use to do this wen i use to program with a small console.

I love the comments above, but nobody seems to mention the 'inter-scene' re-patch, which allowed many shows that I did as an operator early in my career to look good (or at least goodish). Dashing from the desk to re-plug racks is instructive.

Steaders, I would dispense with the control altogether and sit by the racks with a cue sheet banging plugs into sockets. LOL

Great article. Our next show has very little in the way of scenery and the director has said it's all being done by lights! My initial draft plan has me needing about 30 circuits with just 12 dimmer channels. Now I know it's "standard" practice to hot-swap plugs as I go. Where I'm going to get the lanterns from is a different matter...

Thanks.
